Road Rage: Democrats Will Be Angry Over a Newly-Named Stretch of Oklahoma Highway

Some folks will be disgusted by the product of legislation Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed Friday.

As reported by The Oklahoman, Kevin put pen to paper in order to rename a stretch of panhandle highway.

Affixed to the state legislature’s yearly omnibus bridge-and-highway-naming bill was something to give blue voters the…blues.

That’s right: a man relentlessly compared to Adolf Hitler gets his own road.

In certain circles, Gov. Kevin was already persona non grata.

He was definitely in the doghouse with animal rights activists.

Last month, the governor got called a “meathead” for — in the words of PETA founder and President Ingrid Newkirk — “[stalling] the vegan revolution.”

Following Colorado Democrat Gov. Jared Polis’s declaration of a “MeatOut Day,” Kevin announced March 22-26 would be “MeatAllWeek” week.

    Ingrid tweeted her response:

“Governor Stitt must have lard on the brain if he imagines that he can stall the vegan revolution. PETA encourages people to ignore this act of political desperation and see the meat industry for what it is–a planet-polluting, artery-clogging, animal-killing disaster.”

The newly-named highway likely won’t increase his Q with the aisle’s Left side.

And there’s more of the same happening elsewhere.

In Ohio, a bill aims at changing Mosquito Lake State Park to Donald J. Trump State Park — a fact that forces me to ask, “Why would anyone have named it Mosquito Lake to start with?”

    I believe I know the answer, but the choice still…in a word…sucked.

Regardless, sponsor Rep. Mike Lychik hailed The Donald:

“This legislation is meant to honor the commitment and dedication that our 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, bestowed upon the great people of Trumbull County. This enthusiasm for our former president was also historic throughout the state of Ohio last November as he pushed for initiatives and policies that was very well-received with my constituency and the state.”

In Oklahoma, the highway marks the state’s second attempt at honoring #45.

In 2019, an effort was made to dub a piece of Route 66 after the man.

Per The Oklahoman, that campaign was broadly condemned as a “politicization of the Mother Road.”

But now, as for Oklahoma Trumpers, a stretch of pavement will become the mother of all roads.

It’s going to drive #Resistors crazy.
