On the anniversary of George Floyd’s tragic death, the assistant dean of a private research college decided to school people on the reality of white people.
As it turns out, they’re all bad.
So says Caucasian Kate Slater, who serves at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
On Instagram, Kate — who describes herself as a “racial justice scholar and educator” — did something that may have surprised her 5,424 followers: She came out as a racist.

As reported by the Daily Mail, while confessing her sin, she went ahead and confessed it for all other white people, too:
“All white people are racist, in that all white people have been conditioned in a society where one’s racial identity determines life experiences/outcomes…”
And just so everyone’s clear:
“That includes me!”
It was a bold move.
But don’t misunderstand:
“I don’t hate white people — I hate whiteness.”
If you’re confused and a follower, you’re in luck. Her account’s set to Private, but for those with access, she’s provided a tutorial:
“To distinguish between [white people and whiteness], please feel free to watch my recent live ‘What is Whiteness?'”
Kate’s a big proponent of Critical Race Theory:
“‘Debates’ about Critical Race Theory are often straw men for debates about whether or not systemic racism is real. And no number or statistics or facts that I could offer up are going to convince people to ‘see’ systemic racism if they don’t want to.”
“Seeing” is certainly believing. And across the nation, institutions are wanting people to open their eyes.
As I covered previously, the American Psychiatry Association recently posted an article quoting a doctor thusly:
“If you look for racism, you’ll find it everywhere. … We are all soaked in racism.”
And this week, it was revealed that defense contractor Lockheed Martin encouraged white male employees in “seeking new landscapes” and “having new eyes” in order to see their white privilege.
Back to Kate, she’s had her hands in righting racial wrongs for quite a while.
From her website:
Previously, she was the Associate Director & Manager of Programs at the Institute for Recruitment of Teachers, a nonprofit that promotes racial equity in the American educational sector. She is also a lecturer at the University of New Hampshire for the course Teaching Race, which explores the history of race and racism in America. Her doctoral research centers the experiences of underrepresented minorities students in higher education, and in particular, at predominantly White institutions. She also investigates White racial identity formation and how racism operates individually, organizationally, and systemically. She leads facilitations, trainings, and affinity groups with K-12 institutions and universities, as well as with numerous private organizations.
Curious work for a racist, but perhaps it’s a great way to counteract herself.
She’s been doing a lot of that lately.
As posted to YouTube on March 12th, she guested on “Majoring In The Majors with Pastor S.J. Munson” to talk about her handbook, 2021 Anti-Racist Roadmap.
The same month, she aided the University of New Hampshire with some anti-racist assistance.
The Daily Wire provided a bit of transcription:
“The most important aspect of my personality identity for purposes of this conversation is that I am a white woman. I do want to put out the big caveat that I’m in no way shape or form an expert on the history of race and racism. … I don’t believe that it’s possible for a white person to be an expert in race and racism. I don’t think we can be an expert in something that we enact versus something that we experience.
On Wednesday, RedState’s Kira Davis provided analysis of Kate’s IG post.
Is she the problem or the solution?
It would appear she’s both.
Kira surmises Kate should stop speaking:
The only logical outcome here is for her step aside and offer her job and pension to a non-white candidate. … If these people want to jam CRT down our throats in the name of justice, then make them play their game all the way to the last second. The only fair thing to do is to give up their power and walk away and shut up forever.
Fortunately, Kate’s on the same page — she said so to the University of New Hampshire:
“White people need to sit back and shut up right now.”
Maybe if all white people will do as Kate does — raise their voices about shutting up by speaking out about how they should never talk — racism will finally be a thing of the past.
And on that glorious day, all of the loud, racist voices will have been muted by megaphoning the fact that they shouldn’t be doing that very thing.
