I’ve generally tried to avoid these kinds of stories the last several weeks because writing about Joe Biden’s obvious senility gets repetitive at some point. But somehow, he just keeps upping the ante in a way that I can’t ignore.
That happened today during an event at the White House where Jill Biden hosted the 2021 Teachers of the Year ceremony. That included the presence of Randi Weingarten, the child-less teachers union head who was at the forefront of so much destruction to schools over the last two years. She was honored today because absolutely nothing matters to this administration except rank partisanship and being on the right team.
Joe Biden, in completely spontaneous, not at all planned fashion made a “surprise” appearance in which he made that lame “I’m Jill Biden’s husband” joke for the umpteenth time. Later, though, this happened.
Biden, appearing to be followed by some kind of handler, meanders toward the microphone while horn music blares in the background. He then starts talking, saying “I’ll tell you what, I would like to learn it.” What he’s referring to, I have no idea, but it doesn’t look like he was having a conversation with anyone else.

At that point, Jill Biden rushes over, stretching her arm out, and while I can’t say with certainty, it sounds like she says “look at me” in an exasperated tone. Biden does not, in fact, look at her or even acknowledge her. Instead, he mumbles something else into the microphone that I can’t understand, at which point he waves at seemingly no one because the crowd isn’t paying attention to him. The clip ends with him looking around in a confused fashion as Jill Biden again moves toward him to offer assistance.
It’s just a weird scene, and while I’m sure CNN’s fact-checker guy, who can’t be bothered to fact-check the White House’s many blatant lies, is going to let us know all of this was normal, nothing about this was normal. Could he not hear the music? Why didn’t he react to his wife standing a few feet away from him trying to get his attention? What was he even talking about? It’s like the president was in another world, perhaps because he was in another world.
I won’t belabor the point, but I will pose a question: Does anyone think this guy makes it to the end of his term?
